Essex is a great place to live and work, as it is a county of contrasts with a mix of both rural settings and urban centres. Whether you prefer rural villages, pretty seaside towns or vibrant city centres, we have them all.

With 1.4 million residents, Essex is the second most populated county in England. Bordering London in the south east, the Thames Gateway is one of the country's key growth areas. In the north east is the country’s major port to northern Europe, Harwich, and in the West is Stansted Airport. The county is also home to England's oldest recorded town, Colchester, as well as two of its newest – Basildon and Harlow.

All this means that, wherever you're based in Essex, you'll enjoy a varied social life and a wide choice of places to live, as well as an interesting and rewarding career.
